Apex Rush - sports team images

Three out of my four sons play soccer for Apex-Rush soccer club. Last month I had the privilege of photographing 13 teams ranging from 9U to 18U! Around 200 athletes participated in media day across two-days.

I photographed each Apex Rush soccer player against a green screen and photoshopped them onto a soccer background with smoke. Each player started their poses with arms crossed. From there I included Apex Rush along with their age bracket and the year. From there the players were able to choose 2 additional poses. I had a graphic of poses for the players to choose from, but some chose to go rogue and create their own poses--such as using their cleat as a telephone and 'answering it.' I was surprised by how silly the teenage boys were during their time in front of the camera.

I also photographed each team with and without coaches. Families could then choose to purchase digital images, prints, or the traditional 'memory mate' with an individual and a team photo. I had so much fun photographing these teams and interacting with the players. I'd love to photograph more teams this winter!
