The Use of Ai in the Photography Industry

I have lasted as long as possible when it comes to using Ai in photography, but it appears that artificial intelligence is here to stay. In fact, it's now feels like it's more common than it's not to use Ai. When I write these silly little blog posts, I have the option to use Ai to increase my Search Engineer Optimization to increase my reach. It feels so counterproductive. I did the work. I took the photos, I edited the photos, and now I am writing about them, but I need to use this silly little tool to get my words and images out to people. But at what cost?

Ai technology is not free from downfalls. In fact, it has some massive ramifications, like the environmental impact due to the amount of water it uses to produce a single prompt from Chatgpt. I recently read an article that said that applicants that do not use Ai to write their resumes are not being flagged by Ai services to move forward in the interview process. Sigh But how do I use Ai? I do not and will not use Ai to create images. That's a hard and fast no for me. I will not to be taking the images I captured through my lens and uploading them into some silly little Ai generator and passing them off as my own work.

Buuuuut, I will use Ai to remove tricky objects when my other methods have failed. I will use Ai to cut down on my editing by doing some of the work I did by hand/using the brush tool in Photoshop, such as brightening eyes or smoothing skin. I haven't even felt the need to use Ai to help me write Instagram captions or hooks. I have repeatedly heard others in the industry telling me that I just need to train Ai and coach it into what I want the results to be. What? Coach a robot to take over my job? Nah, I'm good. I like writing. I like editing. I don't want to give up that power. And certainly not for the sake of the environment and clean drinking water. I also don't want photos of my house or my children to be in some cloud to be spit out into other people's images. The insanity that is Open Ai is astonishing and frightening.

I think I'll stay rigid in my old ways. I'll use Ai as a tool every once and awhile vs relying it on it daily.
